hockey hall of fame

after working for the last few months up in toronto, i finally got to the hockey hall of fame, which happened to be basically in my office building!  it had been a goal since the beginning of the case!

i ran upstairs to check out the stanley cup first and all of the other cups and trophies! it was much bigger than i expected.

i loved seeing all the other awards.  the cup always remains the same height even as more and more teams win the cup and the hall of fame had a vault which had the earlier rings from the cup!

downstairs, they have exhibits about some of the great hockey greats!  i got see displays about for gordie howe, steve yzerman, and bobby orr (my mother's favorite)!  i got to walk through an old replica locker room as well as look at old hockey memorabilia.  by this of course, i mean hockey playing cards and wheaties boxes!

i wish i had more time to see the information about the olympics.  i loved seeing the countries' jerseys, but wish i could have spent more timing looking at the youth championships and junior olympic information.

i wish the gift store had been better!  i was going to surprise my boyfriend with a present from the shop, but i was disappointed!  they had very little red wing gear, but even worse, very little general hockey gear that was non-specific.  i was hoping for some old hockey gear or books about the "good ole days."
