jardin du luxembourg
leaving the pantheon, i decided to stop in the jardin du luxembourg on the way to a slightly further away metro. on the way, i avoided a little rain shower. if anything, the rain shower just made the garden more beautiful. everything shimmered and glistened with the quick rain shower.
the park is a very manageable size. i loved the symmetry and beautiful flower beds. it was so stately and beautiful. i loved the french style of having a flower bed in the middle of a grass path like you can see in the picture below:
la fontain de medici was just beautiful too. i loved the secret shadows and deep overhangs. the fountain at the back was so intricate.
the garden had just enough interest. i loved how well spaced all the details were. i loved this little statue of pan (perhaps) with the pantheon in the background. you can see the storm in the background and then compare it with the beautiful blue skies in the next painting facing in the opposite direction.
overall, a very pleasant stop in the harried day. i loved the little oasis in the city.
time in garden: 30 minutes
